The Scoop: Harper’s Food Donation Fund

The Scoop is a presentation of Betten Baker Ford of Ludington and West Shore Bank.

Today, on MCP’s The Scoop, Kate Krieger-Watkins interviews Harper Stepka of Riverton Township. Harper will be celebrating her “golden” birthday on April 7 (she turns 7-years-old, the date the correlates with her age). Instead of gifts, the Scottville Elementary first grader wanted to raise money to place food items in the Ludington Cares and Scottville Cares boxes located at the Mason County District Library branches in each town. Her original goal was $200 but she has now raised over $1,800, as of Saturday, April 3.

Harper’s mom, Jennifer, said they are looking at donating a portion of the money to programs that will help Mason County Central students.
