79th District Court sentencings, posted Feb. 26, 2020.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:
-Jacob Matthew Howe, 28, of 400 W. Third St., Apt. 409, Scottville, pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for seven days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol/controlled substances; and $595 in fines/costs. May perform 50 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs.
-Christopher Wayne Hatch, 50, of 3786 W. Forest Hills Circle, Ludington, pleaded no contest Feb. 23 to second offense domestic violence and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must have substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; and $995 in fines/costs. A charge of assault by strangulation was dismissed.
-Megan Nicole Nellett, 30, of 2943 N. Keystone Rd., Traverse City, pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to second degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $815 in fines/costs.
-Nicholas James Piehl, 26, of 3331 W. Jones Lake Rd., Grayling, pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance use evaluation; no drugs/alcohol/controlled substances; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $745 in fines/costs.
Dismissals
-Austin James McCumber, 25, of 602 E. Danaher St., Ludington, had a charge of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property dismissed on Feb. 24 as part of a plea agreement in a felony case.
