LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Sentencings

-Zachariah Paul Gerovac, 22, of 7807 US-10, Branch Township, pleaded no contest June 17 to malicious destruction of a building and attempted assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance use evaluation; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; $1,553.24 in restitution; and $645 in fines/costs. Two counts of assault/resisting/obstructing police, disorderly drunk person, and malicious destruction of personal property were dismissed.

-Brandon David Schultz, 18, of 6936 N. Darr Rd., Free Soil Township, pleaded guilty June 16 to operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have substance use evaluation; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Brian Douglas Mann, 28, of 719 E. Danaher St., Ludington, pleaded guilty June 16 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must continue current counseling program; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
