LUDINGTON — The following activity recently took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court.
Felony arraignments
– Nicholas James Piehl, 26, no address listed, was arrested June 4, 2020 by Ludington Police Department and charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, habitual offender. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 17. Bail was set at $5,000, 10% deposit.
– Austin James McCumber, 24, of 912 N. Emily St., Apt. A4, Ludington, was arrested on June 9, 2020 by LPD, and charged with controlled substance possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy and controlled substance possession of narcotics. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on June 24, 2020. Bail was set at $5,000, 10% deposit.
Misdemeanor arraignments
Regan Rees, 55, 3940 W. Kistler Road, Riverton Township, was arrested June 7, 2020 by Mason County Sheriff’s Office and charged with driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 13, 2020. Bail was set at $2,500, personal recognize.
Jeffrey Clay Young, 50, no address listed, was arrested on June 8, 2020 by Ludington Police Department for retail fraud — second degree (shoplifting). A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 15, 2020. Bail was set at $2,500, 10% deposit.
Valerie Rose Maguire, 21, no address listed, was arrested on June 7, 2020 by MCSO and charged with aggravated assault — domestic violence. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 22, 2020. Bail was set at $2,500, personal recognize.
Ronnie Cuellar Zuniga, 53, of 708 St. Catherine St., Ludington, was arrested on June 10, 2020 by LPD and charged with malicious destruction of personal property. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on July 13, 2020. Bail was set at $2,500, 10% deposit.
Misdemeanor sentencings
– Andres Cantu, 57, homeless, was found guilty on June 9, 2020 on the charge of indecent exposure and was sentenced to 17 days in jail with credit for 17 days served; 45 days discretionary jail for six months; $125 in fines and costs.
Christopher Joseph Sekenske, Jr., 24, of 208 W. Third St., Apt. 2, Scottville, was found guilty for retail fraud — third degree (shoplifting) on June 9, 2020 and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days served; $715 in fines and costs.
