LUDINGTON —Tiffany Heyse created her first car seat poncho for her son to avoid extra bulk when buckled into a five-point harness. The poncho slips on over a toddler’s head and keeps them warm when traveling to and from a vehicle.

Tiffany researched patterns and modified the design to better work for her and her customers. She recently started Ponchos By Tiffany to sell her handmade apparel to parents struggling with coats and car seats. The site was launched this November allowing her to reach local and national markets. Visit ponchosbytiffany.com and facebook.com/ponchosbytiffany to learn more about Tiffany’s cold-weather toddler solution. “Maker” the word according to Merriam-Webster means, “one who makes” and according to Urban Dictionary, “those who love to create things in their spare time.”

Mason County Press is looking around the local areas to find those who consider themselves Makers. Whether they make things for a living or as a hobby, we will uncover many who have a passion for creating things with their hands and sharing those items with the world.
