79th District Court sentencings, posted Nov. 27, 2019.
LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:
-Anthony Craig Hill, 51, of 204 E. Fourth St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to second offense domestic violence and was sentenced to 23 days in jail with credit for 23 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no contact with the victim; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $935 in fines/costs.
-Crystal Lynne Andersen, 32, of 525 W. Kinney Rd., Riverton Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must obtain substance use disorder counseling; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .17 or above was dismissed.
-Morton Arthur Shimel, II, 43, of 602 Fourth St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of careless driving was dismissed.
-Robert Noah Gauthier, 44, of 303 S. Main St., Scottville, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to disorderly person jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; must continue current counseling program; and $285 in fines/costs.
-Joseph Michael Endline, 27, of 8628 E. Decker Rd., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to attempted third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 46 days discretionary jail for six months; must pay $70.61 in restitution to Walmart within six months; and $285 in fines/costs. May perform 29 hours of community service in lieu of fines/costs.
-Brandon James Mitchell, 28, of 406 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to second degree retail fraud and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year and $924 in fines/costs.
-Candice Michele Ohmart, 35, of 225 S. Gibson Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must comply with CPS and DHHS; must continue current counseling program; and $125 in fines/costs. A charge of fourth degree child abuse was dismissed.
-Holly May Thomas, 31, of 1346 E. Madison St., Unit 1, Hart, pleaded guilty Nov. 19 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $795 in fines/costs.
-Edwin Orville Densmore, 58, of 416 Beyer Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 20 to possession of a firearm while under the influence and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must forfeit the firearm and all ammunition; 12 months of probation; and $310 in fines/costs. Charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearms and domestic violence were dismissed.
