Fire damages Amber Twp. garage.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Fire damaged a garage at 413 N. Dennis Road late Sunday evening. Pere Marquette Township Fire Department and Scottville Fire Department were called to the residence, located on the northwest corner of Dennis and Johnson roads, about 11:30 p.m. Initial dispatch information stated flames were coming out of the windows and that the fire appeared to be in the “attic.”

Nobody appeared to be living at the residence.

The garage is unattached but located only a few feet from the house. PMFD Chief Larry Gaylord said the garage had many items in it. Gaylord said he was not sure what started the fire. Mason County sheriff deputies on scene stated that the fire did not appear to be suspicious but the fire chief had requested a Michigan State Police fire marshal investigate.

Also assisting on scene was Life EMS.
