North US 31 to close again Thursday.

SHERMAN/VICTORY TOWNSHIPS — Repairs on US 31 near the Millerton Road intersection were completed today, Wednesday, July 24 and the highway opened back up to traffic at 2 p.m. However, another culvert, located 1/4 mile north of Decker Road, is failing, due to recent rains, and is in need of repairs. Starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, US 31 between Decker and Sugar Grove roads will be closed for the day to make repairs.

• US 31 northbound traffic is encouraged to take Stiles Road north to Sugar Grove Road, then east to US 31.
• US 31 southbound traffic should take US 31 to Sugar Grove Road, west to Stiles Road then south to US 10-31.
• Residents and emergency vehicles will have full access to US 31 up to the culvert failure.

The highway is expected to re-open late Thursday evening but not likely to be re-opened until Friday, late morning or early afternoon, according to the Mason County Road Commission.
