Obituary: Carol Kolb, 82, of Ludington.

Carol (Christie) Kolb, 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Quality Health Hospice Care in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Carol was born in Lansing on February 7, 1937 to Hazel (Henke) and Robert Christie. She was the oldest of five children. Carol graduated from Ludington High School in 1955 and in 1957 was married to Harold Kolb, also of Ludington.

Carol and Harold moved to Hollywood, Fla. in the late ‘60s and later also owned a summer home in Ludington where they spent a lot of good, happy times with family. Several years after Harold’s passing, this summer home on Lincoln Lake became a permanent residence for Carol. No matter what, Carol and Harold always considered Ludington “home”. Approximately five years ago, due to health issues, Carol moved back to Florida to be closer to her children.

Carol will be sadly missed by her three children, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her sisters Martha Byrne & Beth Christie, and her parents.

A “Celebration of Life” ceremony will be held at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. Carol’s urn will then be buried at Lakeview Cemetery next to her husband. We are asking everyone to bring in a memory, kind thought or funny story to share with everyone. Pictures to pass around are also great.
