Obituary: David Courteau, 44, Custer.

David Alan Courteau, 44, of Custer, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.  

David was born on February 19, 1975 in Ludington, the son of Robert and Nancy Courteau.  He graduated from Ludington High School, class of 1993, then attended West Shore Community College.  David attended Apostolic Christian Tabernacle.

David loved working with his hands, which served him well as a construction contractor.  He enjoyed being outside, gardening, hunting, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family.

David is survived by his wife, Paula Courteau; sons, Dawson Courteau (age 10) and William Courteau (age 6); daughter, Raven Cooper (age 10); parents, Robert and Nancy Courteau; sisters, Angela and Charissa (Kim) Courteau; parents-in-law, Fred and Margaret Cooper; sister-in-law, Susan (Jeremy Rassmussen) Cooper; nieces, Andrea, Rachael, Tala, Lily, and Samantha; nephew, Sean; special close friends, Rick Carr, Jeremy Magnuson, Isaac Finley, and Abraham McKinney; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and co-workers.

David was preceded in death by his aunt, Beverly Villarreal and uncle, David Courteau.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Apostolic Christian Tabernacle, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.  Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
