Obituary: Donna Lou Liebetreu, 82, of Ludington.
Donna Lou Liebetreu of Ludington, left us to be with Our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 11, 2019. She spent her final months at Grand Pines Assisted Living in Grand Haven where she received amazing care by the wonderful staff there. Her family is extremely grateful for the love they showed her.
Born on November 10,1936 to Raymond and Regina Masse of Ludington, Donna attended St. Simon Elementary School and graduated as a member of the class of 1954 from Ludington High School. She was married to Roger Keith Liebetreu on May 12, 1956 at St. Simon Catholic Church where Donna was a lifelong member.
Donna was proud of her five children, Vickie (Mike) Williams of Ludington; Dave (Kathy) of Collierville, Tenn.; Joseph; Donald (Kenda) of Grand Haven; and Nancy. She celebrated her children’s accomplishments and was proud of all of them.
Surviving grandchildren include, Josh Williams, Abby (Branden Budreau) Williams, Adam (April) Williams; David (Meghann) Liebetreu, Daniel (Ashley) Liebetreu; Natalie (Zac) Elkins; Kailyn and Gabe Liebetreu. She is survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
A highlight for her was going back to college in her later years and she was proud to graduate from West Shore Community College. Donna loved to read, spend time with her children and grandchildren at the state park, and care for her family. She was employed and valued by Giant Supermarket as a cashier for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Keith Liebetreu in August 2007; son Joseph in December 2005; infant daughter Nancy in December 1973; parents Regina and Raymond Masse; her infant twin brother Donald; her brother Rodney Masse and sister Arlene Rozgay.
A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church, with Rev. Wayne B. Wheeler, Jr. presiding. Family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. Donna will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spectrum Health, Cardiology Clinic of Ludington.
