Obituary: Leona Davis, 91, Walhalla
Leona Iris (Patterson) Davis, 91, of Walhalla passed away at her home on February 25, 2019. Leona was born on July 22, 1927 in Branch to Murrel and Gladys (Matteson) Patterson. She went to Custer High School (now Mason County Eastern) until the 10th grade. She was a life member of the VFW. Leona sold Avon for almost 30 years. She loved going to church at the Church of Christ with Preacher Tom Donald.
Leona married James C. Davis on January 18, 1943. They had six children. Leona’s grandson, Kevin J. Davis, stayed with her the last several years of her life and helped her fulfill her dying wish of passing at home.
Leona is survived by her six children, Kenneth (Linda) Davis, James (Nina) Davis, Gladys (Steve) Swihart, Charles (Nancy) Davis, Janet Settler, and Michael (Roberta) Davis; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her loving husband James C. Davis; her parents, Murrel and Gladys Patterson; her three siblings, Theodore and Mark Patterson and Beryl Chaney; her great-granddaughter, Samantha Peterson; and her grandsons, Kenneth J. Davis Jr. and Albert W. Davis.
A funeral will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions in Leona’s name may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
