79th District Court sentencings, posted Feb. 21, 2019
LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:
-Aaron Michael Burrell, 35, of 1241 Park St., Baldwin, pleaded no contest Feb. 12 to attempted assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must have a substance abuse evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; must not use/buy/possess marijuana or controlled substances without a prescription; must attend AA two times per week for one year; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $995 in fines/costs. A no contest plea is not an admission of guilty, but is treated as one during sentencing.
-Kyle Lee Siersema, 23, of 501 First St., Apt. A, Ludington, pleaded guilty Feb. 13 to second offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to 42 days in jail with credit for 11 days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact weekend; no drugs/alcohol; must not buy/use/possess marijuana or controlled substances without a prescription; subject to random PBTs and drug tests and $1,345 in fines costs. In a separate case, he pleaded guilty to trespassing and disturbing the peace and was sentenced to ten days in jail with credit for ten days served; 120 days discretionary jail for one year and $685 in fines/costs. Additional charges of trespassing, installing a device to eavesdrop, and driving without a license were dismissed.
-Christian Robert Walden, 25, of 208 E. Foster St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Feb. 14 to public intoxication and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served and $285 in fines/costs.
-Joel Anthony Patterson, 32, of 124 W. Broadway, Scottville, pleaded guilty Feb. 14 to public intoxication and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served and $285 in fines/costs.
-Adam John Steffens, 40, of 1020 E. Kinney Rd., Eden Township, pleaded guilty Feb. 12 to second offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to 35 days in jail with credit for five days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact weekend; no drugs/alcohol; no marijuana; subject to random PBTs; must attend AA two times per week for two years; must continue current counseling program; and $1,500 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).
-Swan Edward Swanson, III, 30, of 3251 W. Michillinda, Whitehall, pleaded guilty Feb. 12 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for 45 days served. Sentence to run concurrent with sentence imposed by Muskegon County Circuit Court. A charge of false report of a misdemeanor was dismissed.
-Deborah Juanita Krajkiewicz, 57, of 428 E. Wilson Rd., Custer Township, pleaded no contest Feb. 12 to larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $895 in fines/costs. Charges of larceny in a building and stealing/retaining a financial transaction device were dismissed.
-Craig Allan Tyndall, 45, of 10982 N. Turner Rd., Irons, pleaded guilty Feb. 13 to driving without a license and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and fourth offense habitual offender were dismissed.
-Timathy Lynn Fountain, 44, of 435 N. Penn St., Mecosta, pleaded guilty Feb. 14 to using a treble hook in the Pere Marquette River and was sentenced to 22 days in jail with credit for 22 days served. Fines/costs are suspended due to jail time imposed. Jail sentence shall run concurrent with time served in Mecosta County Jail.
