Obituary: Tracy Bothwell, 62, Scottville

Tracy Duane Bothwell, 62, of Scottville passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019. He was born August 10, 1956 in Eaton Rapids to Stanley and Phyllis (Wright) Bothwell. Tracy graduated from Mason County Eastern High School. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Army where he served for eight years as an artillery instructor. After his honorable discharge, Tracy worked in construction and apartment management until his retirement.

Tracy married Janice Lange on April 10, 1981 in Ludington. They spent many happy years together. Tracy was an avid hunter and fisher.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Janice; his two sons, David (Teri) and Daniel Bothwell; his stepchildren, Lisa (Jim) Bormes and Kenneth Nickerson; his grandchildren, who referred to him as “Papa Toad”, Trista, Bradley, Ami, Zachary, Stephanie, Cameron, Jayden, and Danny; his great-granddaughter, Lexus; and his siblings, Judy Davney, Gloria (Duane) Clossen; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Besides his parents, Tracy was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Miller, his In-laws, Kenneth and Waneta Lange, and his beloved dog, Murphy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Bachelor Evangelical Church, 5940 E. Sugar Grove Rd. in Sheridan Township.

Memorial contributions in Tracy’s name may be directed to the family.
