Obituary: Mary Ann Jensen (Majchrzak), 74, of Scottville
Mary Ann Jensen (Majchrzak), 74, of Scottville, passed away on January 21, 2019 at Traverse City Munson Medical Center.
Mary Ann was born on November 17, 1944 in Manistee to Regina (Swiatlowski) and John Marjchrzak.
Mary Ann attended Manistee Catholic Central where she participated in the marching band and was proud to say she had perfect attendance in high school.
Mary Ann met her husband, Richard “Rick” Jensen at the age of 14 during the East Lake Dance. As Rick walked in, Mary Ann caught his eye standing amongst many girls in the crowd. Rick proclaimed to his friends “Fellas, step aside…she is mine”.
Rick and Mary Ann were married December 31, 1962. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Rick; daughter Karen Sanchez (Victor); and son Bob Jensen (Molly). Also, grandchildren, Bobby, Mark, Daniel, David, Michenna, Arianna, Gabrielle, as well as, great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jayden, Liam, Grayson and Peyton.
Mary Ann’s later years in life revolved around spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play various sports and attended these games any chance she could. She was also sure to tell the referees when they had called the wrong call. Mary Ann loved playing cards and making sure all players knew how to deal the cards and play by the rules.
A memorial and celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Mason County Reformed Church, from 5 to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Please come to share your stories of love and laughter.
