LUDINGTON – A 20-year-old Fountain man faces serving 10 months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term after pleading guilty in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Jan. 22, to two counts of breaking and entering a building with intent.
Aaron Michael Dietz, of 2090 4th St., testified that he stole about an ounce of marijuana and $20 cash from a home on South Madison Street in the City of Ludington. He told Judge Susan K. Sniegowski that he went back to the same house and stole more marijuana.
“I used a crow bar and a hammer to get through the door and window,” Dietz said.
He initially faced three felony counts of second-degree home invasion, which were dismissed when he pleaded to the added two counts.
Dietz is scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of receiving and concealing $1,000-$20,000 in 79th District Court in a separate case, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola.
Sentencing guidelines in the circuit court case are 10-24 months.
Sentencing is set for March 12 at 2:15 p.m.
