LUDINGTON — Robotics team members from Ludington High School, Mason County Central, and Mason County Eastern met Saturday at the Ludington robotics building to learn about pneumatics and metal fabrication from two experts in the field. Jake Carrick and Ethan VanGessel of NEFF in Grand Rapids volunteered their time to show the students their products and how to use them.
LHS coach Karen Shineldecker said teams from several area schools were invited. “We wanted to bring the students from area robotics teams together so they could experience this type of knowledge,” Shineldecker said. “This was a great opportunity.”
Carrick, a 1997 graduate of Free Soil High School, said he was impressed to see the area schools getting involved in robotics and was honored to be part of teaching them about advanced methods.
The event was partially funded by the Community Foundation for Mason County.
