LUDINGTON – A 29-year-old Ludington man was arrested on felony charges by the Ludington Police Department after allegedly assaulting a 25-year-old Ludington area man with a skateboard, according to Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett.
Bradley Daniel Gilman, of 710 E. Third St., faces one count of first-degree home invasion and one count of felonious assault. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail on a $50,000/cash/surety bond.
Gilman is in “some sort of relationship” with the female tenant of the residence where the assault occurred, and the victim was in a previous relationship with her, the chief said.
The assault took place at a residence in the 1000 block of Pineway Street Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10:17 a.m., Barnett said. Gilman “pushed his way through” the door and began assaulting the other man. He first assaulted the man with his fist, punching him approximately 30 times. He then used a skateboard to assault the victim by hitting him in the back of head with it and then striking him with it three times on his body, the chief said.
The victim, who suffered cuts and bruises, was treated at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.
Gilman is scheduled for a preliminary exam in 79th District Court Jan. 16 at 11:15 a.m.
