SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP – A 37-year-old Free Soil man was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on several charges Saturday, Dec. 29, the day after allegedly hitting a man on the head with a flashlight and then chasing after two women in a vehicle, trying to run them off the road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The domestic violence incident was reported via a 911 call Friday, Dec. 28, at 1:38 p.m.

“Two victims fled the scene after the suspect reportedly struck a male in the head with a flashlight,” Cole said. “The suspect chased after the females – both in vehicles – and attempted to run the females off the road several times,” the sheriff said.

“The male suspect was arrested the following day after being found in a vehicle during a traffic stop.”

The suspect is charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of reckless driving. He was also wanted on two outstanding warrants in Oceana County.
