Obituary: James McCumber, 82, Ludington.
James William McCumber, 82, of Ludington passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018. He was born April 6, 1936 in Custer to William and Irene (Moline) McCumber. Jim graduated from Ludington High School in 1954. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country for two years.
Jim married Yvonne Ezdebski on December 1, 1962. Through high school and after his service with the Army, Jim worked for Peterson Furniture where he built cabinets until he started his own company. Jim and Tom Peplinski owned and operated McCumber Peplinski Construction until their retirement.
Jim was a member of the Ludington Eagles and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, wood working, and cars. He also enjoyed his trips north to go fishing with his good friend Larry.
Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne; his brother, Charles McCumber of Walhalla; and his brother-in-law, Dave Marston and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Marston.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery.
