PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP – The Hart post of the Michigan State Police will conduct an event, “Stuff a Blue Goose,” to benefit less fortunate families in Mason and Oceana counties, Friday, Dec. 14, from 3-7 p.m. at the Ludington-area Walmart on US 10.
“We have long referred to our patrol cars as a “Blue Goose,” and we hope to stuff them full of new toys and non-perishable food items this year,” said Trooper Todd Goodrich. “We are planning to have a Michigan State Police patrol car situated at the Walmart store in Ludington. We will also have troopers at this location accepting donations.
“Our goal is to collect as many new toys and food items as possible during this four-hour period,” Goodrich said. “All of the donated items will be turned over to the Salvation Army for distribution to the families in need.”
