Obituary: Sylvia Wyrick, 79, Riverton Township.
Sylvia Jean Wyrick, 79, of Riverton Township, Scottville passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her home. Sylvia was born on May 7, 1939 in Red Cloud, Neb., the daughter of Lloyd and Betty (Pinner) Gailbraith and was married to Ronald Svacha in 1955. Sylvia and Ron celebrated aver 41 years together before Ron preceded her in death in November, 1996. Sylvia married Gary N. Wyrick on April 10, 2010 in Ludington and they enjoyed dancing and traveling all over the world together. Sylvia loved her family and has cared for her grandson Richard for many years.
Along with her husband Gary, Sylvia will be greatly missed by her children, Sherrie Lloyd of Custer, Donna (Manuel) Olivas of New Mexico, and Ronald (Jackie) Svacha of Custer; Gary’s children, Judy (Guy) Sperry of Traverse City, Jill (John) Krchmar of Gladwin, and Joel (Bobbie) Wyrick of Vancouver, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Marie Gailbraith of Ludington. Along with her husband Ronald Svacha, Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Jerry Gailbraith.
Funeral services will be held for Sylvia at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 27 at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville. Burial will take place at Center Riverton Cemetery at a later date. Friends may greet her family during a time of visitation on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish to remember Sylvia with a memorial donation are asked to consider Hospice of Michigan – Mason County, or the Scottville Senior Center.
