Obituary: Marian Jarvi, 74, Ludington.
On Friday, September 7, 2018, Marian Jarvi passed away at Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. With her daughters by her side, Marian peacefully passed from this life to the next, joining her husband in God’s loving embrace.
Marian was born on July 31, 1944, in Ludington to Howard Jury and Frances Love-Jury, who both welcomed her home with open arms. Marian met Gerald Jarvi in Muskegon and wed on November 24, 1963. Marian lived the life of a Coast Guard wife, moving around the country with her husband and eventually with her two daughters, Jean and Trish. In 1979, after Jerry’s retirement, Marian returned to Ludington to be near family. She worked for Star Watch Case, the City of Ludington, First of America Bank and Mark Pehrson. She had a love of crafts and crocheted each grandchild an afghan. She also loved music and was a longtime member of the Community Church bell choir. Marian, along with her husband, enjoyed camping. They spent numerous weekends with their camping club, many Labor Day weekends in St. Ignace to walk the Mighty Mac and a wonderful winter in Florida with close friends.
