‘Pop-Up Play Time’ next weekend.
Thanks to a Trusted Advisor Grant through the Great Start Collaborative, our youngest community members get to have fun next weekend while parents learn some valuable parenting skills.
“Pop Up Play Time” for children ages 0-5 and their families promotes child-parent engagement and play. Educators and teaching professionals will demonstrate different types of activities at parent stations — bedtime routine station, literacy station, healthy snack station, screen time station, active play station, cooperative play station and behavior station — while children have an opportunity to play.
All materials used for play and engagement are free to all families as a way to encourage parents to continue these good practices at home. A meal will be provided to participants, and adults and teens will be available to supervise children while they play in bounce houses and in the pop-up play tent.
The event dates and times are as follows:
– Scottville: Friday, Aug. 17, 5-8 p.m. at Scottville Elementary School;
– Ludington: Saturday, Aug. 18, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Mason County Ludington Library;
– Hart: Saturday, Aug. 18, 3-5:30 p.m. at the Diman-Wolf Early Childhood Center on the Hart Public Schools campus.
