Drunk cyclist falls off bike, tries to fight deputy.

LUDINGTON — A 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested by a Mason County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday, July 4, at 8:22 p.m. after he fell off his bicycle and tried to fight the deputy who was trying to help him, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
The man’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .24, which is three times the legal limit.
The incident occurred at Tinkham and James streets. The deputy “happened upon the person after he had fallen off his bicycle,” Cole said. “The deputy went to check on the injured man, and he took off running on foot. Following a brief foot chase, he was captured and attempted to fight with the deputy. He was arrested and charged with being a disorderly person.”
