LUDINGTON — A 56-year-old homeless man pleaded guilty to third-offense failure to register as a sex offender Tuesday, June 19, in 51st Circuit Court.
Douglas Andrew Wilson appeared in court with his attorney David Glancy for a final conference hearing.
A fourth-offense habitual offender designation was dismissed when Wilson pleaded guilty Tuesday.
“I was homeless at the time and then started staying on the street,” Wilson said. He was in violation, because he was registered as staying at the homeless shelter at 101 S. Madison Ave. in Ludington, said Mason Counth Prosecutor Paul Spaniola.
Wilson was arrested Feb. 25 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
The case will run concurrently to a probation violation case Wilson faces, Spaniola said. Sentencing guidelines in the case are two to 17 months.
Sentencing is set for Aug. 7 at 1:45 p.m.
