LUDINGTON — A 29-year-old Scottville woman was sentenced to serve 10 months up front of a one-year discretionary jail term Tuesday, May 29, in 51st Circuit Court for convictions of malicious destruction of property $200-$1,000 and third-offense operating while intoxicated.
Jennifer Lynn Nickleson, of 210 E. Second St., kicked the windshield of a Michigan State Police patrol car, cracking it, when she was being transported to the Mason County Jail by a trooper last December.
Nickleson also faced two counts of resisting and opposing police, malicious destruction of police property, and a misdemeanor of second-offense driving while license suspended. Those charges were dismissed in a plea agreement.
At the jail, she continued to fight and resist officers, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
Nickleson, who has been lodged in jail since her arrest, received credit for 154 days served. Her bail was set at $50,000/cash/surety.
According to Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola, she was on probation when she committed the offense.
Sentencing guidelines in the case are five to 23 months.
Judge Susan K. Sniegowski also sentenced Nickleson to two years probation; 60 days community service; and $542.22 restitution.
