Richard Kenneth Horton, 69, of Fountain, passed away on April 15, 2018.
Richard was born on November 8, 1948 in Saginaw, the son of Norman and Adella (Wallace) Horton. He was a truck driver for Yellow Truck for about 25 years, until his retirement in 2007. Richard loved living on the lake and working in the yard and on remodeling projects. While relaxing, he could often be found watching “Little House on the Prairie”, “Gunsmoke”, or Fox News.
Richard is survived by two sons, Gary Robert (Carolyn) Horton and Richard Kenneth Horton II; grandchildren, Mason Jonker, Ryan and Aminda Horton, Taylor Horton, and Garrett Horton; brothers, Norman Horton, David (Joyce) Horton, and Gerald (LuAnn) Horton; brothers-in-law, Harry Burden and Theodore Prestley; and his companion, Cindy Carpenter.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; children, Terry John Horton and Shari Kay Horton; and sisters Sharon Burden and Charlene Prestley.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.. A luncheon will be held at the Amber Township Hall on Amber Road immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
