LUDINGTON — A 36-year-old Grand Rapids man faces serving a year in jail after pleading guilty in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Feb. 27, to a felony of stealing/retaining a financial transaction device and a misdemeanor of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property.
Kevin Andrew Spoelma, of 1039 Dunham St., will be ordered to pay $1,618.13 in restitution, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola.
He stole a credit card from inside a car and also broke into a pickup truck at the Ludington State Park last July and also stole some “high end” bicycles from the Cartier Park in Ludington, Spaniola said.
He was eventually apprehended at the Grand Haven State Park and also faces similar charges in Ottawa and Kent counties, the prosecutor said. His Mason County sentence will run concurrently to his Kent and Ottawa sentences.
Spoelma’s up front jail time has not yet been set.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 10 at 1:15 p.m.
