DEARBORN — Sue Brown, of Photography by Sue Brown was named the 2018 Photographer of the Year by the Professional Photographers of Michigan, during the organization’s annual convention last weekend.

The title Michigan Photographer of the Year is annually bestowed on a photographer by a panel of certified judges from across the United States who select the top photographs at the PPM convention. Additionally Brown received awards for the top photograph in the Portrait Division, and for her almost perfect score of 99 out of 100, which was the highest scoring print entered into the competition.

The Professional Photographers of Michigan is dedicated to the supporting, and the development of photographers throughout Michigan.

“It was a true honor to receive these awards,” Brown said. “It’s a great opportunity to push myself to be a better photographer each year, to be recognized is just icing on the cake.”

The photographic art pieces Brown submitted will now continue on to be judged at the annual Professional Photographers of America International Print Competition held in Atlanta in August.

Sue and Steve Brown are the owners of Photography by Sue Brown, 1676 W Hansen Rd., Amber Township. The studio offers artistic and creative portrait photography services.
