On August 24, 1985 she married Kurt W. Mathews at Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Ludington and they have celebrated 32 years together.
Family was the cornerstone of Janet’s life. She loved staying home to care for her children and cared for several children of her extended family as well. After the kids were grown, Janet worked in housekeeping at the Best Western Motel in Ludington which she very much enjoyed. She also enjoyed bowling and working in her beautiful gardens at home. Getting together with family and friends, often while playing cards or enjoying a great meal was always her greatest joy.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Elaine Collins, her in-laws William and Joyce Mathews, her brother David Collins and infant brother Charles Collins, and her beloved nephew Ricky Husted.
