Obituary: Kent Ingraham, 80, Scottville.
Kent Lee Ingraham, 80, of Scottville passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 24, 1937, in Jackson, Michigan, to Harald “Red” and Helen (Hughes) Ingraham.
Kent married Barbara Jean Woodfill on September 15, 1961. Together they raised five children. Kent was a graduate of Michigan State University and a lifetime Spartan fan. He enjoyed a short career as a teacher and coach at St. Matthews in Flint and Mason County Central Schools in Scottville before starting a business that combined two of his favorite things, his love of woodworking and his children.
He was an exceptional athlete, playing basketball, football, and golf, among many others. His love of sports continued through his entire life. Kent also had a great love for nature, especially watching storms roll in off Lake Michigan. Kent loved his family and he loved his ice cream. He couldn’t get enough of either.
Kent will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; children: Lesa Ingraham, Julie Skupien, Stephen Ingraham , Peter Ingraham, and Brian Ingraham; grandchildren: Katerine Skupien, Paul Skupien; great grandson, Bennett Rosenberg; sister Judy Fuller; niece, Kim (Bryan) Lewis and Nephew Todd (Vicki)Fuller.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 am at Prayer and Praise Assembly of God in Ludington, Michigan. Visiting will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions in Kent’s name may be directed to the family to assist with medical expenses or to Hospice of Michigan, who so compassionately took care of Kent in his last days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
