Obituary: Ruth Gustafson, 77, Fruitport, formerly of Scottville.

Ruth Ann Gustafson, 77, of Fruitport and formerly of Scottville, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She was born on August 25, 1940 to William and Eleanor (Swiftney) Vincent in Grand Haven.
Ruth graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to have a career in secretarial work. Ruth worked for a number of businesses including, Fellowship Reformed Church, Hackley Hospital, Memorial Medical Center (now Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital) and West Shore Community College, which she was most proud of.
She married Dave Gustafson in Tucson, Arizona on September 26, 1958, and they lived in the Muskegon and Scottville areas for most of their marriage. Dave and Ruth recently started attending Fellowship Reformed Church in Muskegon. While living in Scottville, Dave and Ruth were members of Mason County Reformed Church. Ruth enjoyed to knit, read and travel, but nothing was more important than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her husband of 59 years, Dave; children: Cathy (Greg) Fletchall, Mike (Emily) Gustafson, Sandy (Dan) Morren; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Sandy) Vincent; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eleanor.
A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Fellowship Reformed Church, 4200 Apple Ave., Muskegon, with a luncheon to follow.
