Obituary: Rosetta Taylor, 91, Custer.

Rosetta Jane Taylor, 91, of Custer passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2017.  Rosetta was born on October 10, 1925 in Custer, the daughter of Walter and Olive (Hannah) Forbes.  On May 1, 1947 she married Claud J. Taylor in Riverton Township and they celebrated 55 years together before Claud preceded her in death in 2002.  Rosetta was also preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law Claude McCumber, her sister Viola Bryant and husband Foster, and her brothers Raymond Forbes and wife Irene, Roy Forbes and his wives Amelia, Ruth, and Eunice, Sylvester Forbes and wife Rowena, and Ervin Forbes and wife Catherine.

Rosetta stayed very sharp to the end and always stated “I’ve got a lot of life in me.”  She enjoyed spending time knitting, crocheting, working in her garden, making lawn chairs, quilting and sewing among many other talents.  When her children were young, she sewed most of the clothes they wore.  Rosetta’s greatest love was always found caring for her husband and family.  She was truly a Virtuous Woman as stated in Proverbs 31.

Rosetta will be greatly missed by her children: Diana McCumber of Custer, Kathy Rees and husband Larry of Ludington, Mark Taylor and friend Cheryl Stephens of Custer; her grandchildren: Susan Paskvan and husband Christopher of Wheaton, Ill., Trudy McCumber, and Scott McCumber both of Custer, Lynsey Chinnery of Lake City, Christopher Chinnery of Ludington, Brittney Taylor of Custer, and Chance Taylor and friend Marissa Martinez of Branch; her great-grandchildren: Kyle and Haley Paskvan, and Rees McCumber.  Rosetta will also be missed by her nieces: Phyllis Thompson and husband Roger, Olive Davis and husband Melvin, Shirley Garten, and Linda Whitaker; and her nephew Jim Forbes and wife Leslie.

Funeral services will be held for Rosetta at noon on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville.  Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Eden Township.  Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.  Those wishing to remember Rosetta with a memorial donation are asked to consider Harbor Hospice.
