Badger crossings canceled due to weather.

LUDINGTON — The SS Badger has cancelled Friday night and early Saturday Lake Michigan crossings due to hazardous weather.
“In the best interest of our passengers’ comfort, we have cancelled this evening’s 9 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. crossings,” states a press release from Terri Veen, director of marketing and media relations for the SS Badger.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecast for Friday evening is the following:
“Northwest gales to 40 knots diminishing to 30 knots late. Slight chance of waterspouts in the evening. Chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening…then slight chance of showers overnight. Waves 8-12 feet occasionally to 16 feet subsiding to 6-9 feet occasionally to 12 feet.”
Lake Michigan Carferry will resume its normal schedule Saturday, Aug. 5, with a 9 a.m. departure.
