LUDINGTON — The Ludington Police Department is searching for two suspects who allegedly committed an armed robbery at the Plaza Ludington Skate Park Saturday evening, June 10, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett.
“On Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 8:40 p.m., the Ludington Police Department was dispatched to the Ludington Skate Park located on North Lakeshore Drive at Court Street in Stearns Park on a reported armed robbery,” Barnett states. “The victim, a 24-year-old Blanchard, Michigan resident reports being approached by suspect #1, a white male suspect described as 5 foot 9 inches tall, slender build, blondish/light brown ‘buzz cut’ style hair. This suspect was thought to be wearing a black polo shirt with orange and white stripes that were very thin. The victim reports that suspect #1 began speaking to him using street slang terminology.
“The victim reports that while suspect #1 was talking to him, suspect #2 approached him, stood in front of him and lifted up his shirt exposing the handle of what the victim believed was a black handgun in his (suspect #2’s) waistband. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 6 foot 3 inches tall, wearing tan shorts, a white T-shirt and a cap. Victim states that suspect #2, using the same style of street slang terminology, demanded money from the victim. The victim reports that at that point he surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash. Victim reports that he then left the scene.”
LPD is requesting that anyone who has information about this incident should call Det. Aaron Sailor at (231) 843-3425.
