LUDINGTON — A 20-year-old man was injured Wednesday afternoon when he fell from about 30 feet from the roof of the Ludington Water Treatment Plant into an empty holding tank.

Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett said the police department was investigating the incident and not all information is complete. He said he believed the man works for Davis Construction of Lansing, the company contracted to make repairs and upgrades to the plant, located on North Lakeshore Drive, just north of Stearns Park. Barnett described the tank as a clarifier.

The man was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Ludington Fire Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office personnel, and Life EMS also responded to the scene.

More information will be released when it becomes available.
