79th District Court sentencings and dismissals.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:
-Reenya Bilal-Clinton Burrell, 25, no address listed, pleaded guilty May 9 to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no drugs/alcohol or controlled substances; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; driver’s license suspended for 365 days and restricted for 305 days; and $665 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of controlled substance possession of analogs and larceny less than $200 were dismissed.
-Brandon Arlie Straub, 28, of 179 N. Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty May 10 to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must have substance abuse evaluation; driver’s license suspended for 365 days and restricted for 305 days; and $665 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
-Matthew Caleb Petersen, 33, of 2486 N. Jebavy Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty May 9 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to four days in jail with credit for four days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must perform 29 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs; must attend AA two times per week for six months; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and must continue current counseling program. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.
-Amanda Beth Franklin, 37, of 211 E. Johnson Rd., Custer Township, pleaded guilty May 9 to second-offense operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year discretionary jail for two years; probation will be transferred to Benzie County Sobriety Court and must follow its requirements; no drugs/alcohol; the vehicle used in the offense shall be immobilized or forfeited; and $1,070 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
-Ethan Joseph Anderson, 26, of 143 N. Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty May 12 to disorderly drunk person and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must attend AA three times per week; and $285 in fines/costs.
-Derrick Aaron Burris, 36, of 5000 S. Pere Marquette Highway, Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty May 2 to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year; driver’s license suspended for 365 days and restricted for 305 days; and $535 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
– Jacob Lee Brault, 23, 621 E. Dowland St., Ludington, pleaded guilty on May 9 for assault and battery and was sentenced to 17 days in jail, with two days credit, and 93 days discretionary jail time for one year; no contact with victim; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; subject to random PBTs at request of any police officer, counselor of the court; subject to random drug tests at request of any counselor of the court; must not violate any criminal laws; purchase and/or possession of alcohol is permitted for employment purposes only. Fees total, $3,635.
-Rachel Mary Walsch, 23, 2591 W. May Gaw Ne Quong Road, Manistee, pleaded guilty on May 16, 2017 for OWI and sentenced to two days in jail, two days credit, 93 days discretionary jail for two years, must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; must attend AA/NA two times per week; must cooperate with Manistee County Probation Dept.; must obtain Soberlink; must keep and maintain employment; subject to random drug tests; must not violate any criminal laws, $1,050 fines/fees.
-Susan Marie Sell, 61, 4445 W. Fisher Road, Victory Township, was found guilty on May 16, 2017 for OWI and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail time for one year; must attend Victims Impact Panel; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; subject to random PBTs by law enforcement; $870 in fines/fees.
-Melanie Lee Thomas, 48, 701 New William St., Ludington, was found guilty on May 16, 2017 for larceny less than $200 and sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs; must not violate any criminal laws; $125 fines/fees.
Dismissals
-Daniel Caleb Littlefield, 40, of 826 N. Rath Ave., Ludington, had a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) dismissed without prejudice on May 10. Bond is canceled and shall be returned after costs are deducted.
-Danen Carl Frandsen, 24, of 217 10th St., Manistee, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on May 9. According to court records, “Defendant had proof of security.”
-Jonathan Herman Chambers, 46, of 901 N. Gaylord, Ludington, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on May 9 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
-Eric Michael Levine, 40, of 11651 W. US 10, Branch, had a charge of operating while license suspended (OWLS) dismissed on May 1. According to court records, “Defendant pleaded guilty to lesser charge of allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code.”
-Cassandra Marie Krolczyk, 27, of 507 N. Lavinia St., Ludington, had a charge of malicious destruction of property less than $200 dismissed without prejudice on May 5 after entering into a prosecutor’s deferment agreement.
-Roel Belmares, 22, of 5256 N. 176th Ave., Walkerville, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on May 5 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
-Travis Alan Vorase, 23, of 308 5th St., Ludington, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on May 11 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
-Jason Scott Huggard, 31, of 1005 N. Custer Rd., Custer Township, had a charge of operating while license suspended (OWLS) dismissed without prejudice on May 11 after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
-Alberto Mata Estello, 25, of 318 W. Mahl St., Edinburg, Texas, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on May 11. According to court records, “The interests of justice have been served.”
-Susan Marie Sell, 61, 4445 W. Fisher Road, Victory Township, had a charge of driving transporting an open intoxicant in a moving vehicle, dismissed with prejudice on May 16, 2017.
