LUDINGTON — A 24-year-old Summit Township man was sentenced to serve 77 days up front of a one-year discretionary jail term Tuesday, May 9, in 51st Circuit Court for a conviction of unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle (auto theft).
Tyler Joe Brown, of 4245 W. Anthony Rd., received credit for 77 days served in jail. Judge Susan K. Sniegowski also ordered that Brown serve two years probation.
He was arrested last February by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office after striking a power pole with the stolen vehicle, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola.
Brown recently pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated in Oceana County, but has yet to be sentenced, the prosecutor said. His Mason County term runs concurrently with his Oceana County case.
