VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A 64-year-old Sherman Township woman was trapped in her vehicle for about 40 minutes Wednesday morning following a single vehicle crash on Sugar Grove Road. The crash occurred about 8:45 a.m. when the woman was traveling west in the 600 block of Sugar Grove Road, between LaSalle and Gordon roads.
The Buick Rendevous SUV slid off the road, spun around and landed on its side, facing east, on the south side of the road. Secondary roads became slick due to thick, heavy snow that started to come down shortly before 8 a.m.
Rescue personnel from Scottville and Custer fire departments extricated the woman, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. Her injuries appeared to be non life-threatening. Also on scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Life EMS.
