Laura Mosier is in the business of making vacation dreams come true. For the past two years, the Scottville resident has worked as a travel agent for Key to the World Travel, specializing in trips to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. She describes her work as a “hobby job.”

“I went to Walt Disney World a lot when I was a kid and wanted to share new adventures with my own children,” Laura says. “A few years ago we decided to go to Disney and we booked the trip through a travel agent. It was such a great experience and I became Facebook friends with my agent, who was one of the owners of the agency. I asked her how does someone become an agent, and she helped to set me up.”

Laura said using her services does not cost vacationers any more than if they were to book the trip themselves, Disney pays the agency a commission.

“Booking a trip to Walt Disney World can be overwhelming,” Laura says. “My job is to help take that pressure off and allow the vacationers to maximize their fun. I take care of booking their entire trip, right down to Fast Passes and meals.” It is also her job to look for good deals for her clients. Her service is unable to offer discounts, but when she finds a special price, she can change the package the client has booked to reflect the better deal.

Laura recommends booking a Disney trip at least 6 to 9 months in advance. Resort packages only require a $200 down payment and then the vacationer can make payments up until their departure date.

“One of the things I like to do, to help pay for a Disney trip is whenever I am grocery shopping, I buy a Disney gift card, usually $20. Those gift cards add up and can only be used at Disney. They can even be used to pay for a trip.”

Laura works full time as a hair dresser and loves to chat about vacations with her customers.

“I love talking about Disney trips with my hair clients and friends who then spread the word and refer their families and friends to me,” she says. “There’s something exciting about helping out a family fulfill their dream vacation. It’s like I’m right there with them, because I am booking their Fast Passes and their other reservations, so I see the process throughout their vacation.”

While Laura’s passion is Disney, and Key to the World Travel was started by Disney fans, she also can book other trips as well. Recently, she’s planned vacations for people traveling to Sea World and Universal Studios in Orlando. She is also working on trips to Cancun and cruises as well.

“My advice is just for people to call me,” she says. “I will typically ask them questions about what they want to do on their vacations and what are the important things they want to do.

Vacations are supposed to be fun and stress free, so letting someone else take care of those stressful things helps make the vacation that much more enjoyable.”
