SCOTTVILLE — A City of Scottville Department of Public Works plow truck t-boned a car Thursday morning, causing minor injuries to the car’s driver, and extensive damage to the car. The crash occurred about 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of State Street (US 10) and Reinberg Avenue. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, the plow truck, driven by a 54 year-old Ludington man, was heading north on Reinberg, clearing the street, and failed to yield the right-of-way to the car, which was westbound on State Street and driven by a 55-year-old Fountain woman. The car was pushed into a utility pole on the northwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the car was being on scene by paramedics from Life EMS ambulance.
Scottville Police Department and Mason County Sheriff’s Office responded. Because the crash involved a city employee, the sheriff’s office led the investigation. The plow truck driver was given a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way. The DPW truck was not damaged.
