Reva May Gulembo, 86, of Sheridan Township passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Reva was born on July 16, 1930 in Ithaca, the daughter of William and Grace Grice, and graduated from Ithaca High School. While attending college in Lansing, she met Corliss T. “Corky” Gulembo and they married on April 7, 1951 in Ithaca. Corky preceded her in death in 1996.
Reva and her family have operated a dairy farm in Sheridan Township for over 60 years. She was a member of the Scottville & Ludington Order of the Eastern Star 357 for many years, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing setback. Along with her family, she will be greatly missed by her companion “Sweetie.”
Reva will be lovingly remembered by her son Corliss “Ted” Gulembo III and wife Marlynn, her daughter Terri Plato and husband Steven, all of Fountain; her grandchildren: Leah Lois Plato of Dallas, Texas, Holly Lynn Brooks and fiancé Chris Thalman of Scottville, Corliss Gulembo IV and friend Anesa Beilfuss of Fountain, and Steven Plato II of Cleveland, Ohio; her great-grandchildren: Corliss “Cole” Gulembo V, Isabella Gulembo, Ava, Reaghan, and Noelle Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held for Reva at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 8 at the Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church with her former pastor, The Rev. Norman Letsinger officiating. Burial will follow at Bachelor Cemetery. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the church.
