LaVonne VanSickle

LaVonne Elizabeth VanSickle, 98 of Fountain passed away on Friday September 16, 2016 at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington.

She was born on May 6, 1918 in Fountain, daughter of the late Herman and Caroline (Marquand) Hansen.  She attended and graduated from Scottville High School.  LaVonne married Howard VanSickle in 1946.  He preceded her on October 8, 1968. 

LaVonne worked at Mason County Eastern Schools in the Food Service Department for 13 years. LaVonne loved to bake, really enjoyed raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

LaVonne is survived by her son, Ken VanSickle of Ludington; 2 daughters: Judy (Dan) Duchon of Manistee and Cindy (Mark) Eckhardt of Central Lake; grandchildren: Kenny (Kristy) VanSickle, Jennifer (Pat McCarthy) Howe, Michelle (Kenn) Kott, Renee (Garvin) Yorton, Erica (Mike) Thurman, Christopher (Lindsey) Duchon, Heather (Chris) VanderHaag, Adam (Sheryl) McVicker, Melanie (Bill Wiltsie) Eckhardt, Mac (Nicole Hutchins) Eckhardt, Kirk Eckhardt and Kayla (Rob Bachi) Eckhardt; 22 great-grandchilldren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; two sisters: Gwendolyn Hansen and Geraldine Seitz; and brother, Edsel Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday September 20, 2016 at Oak Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Hilyard officiating.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00AM until time of service.  Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Fountain.
