Donna Marie Isham, 58 of Mesick, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her home. Donna was born on August 17, 1958 at the Paulina Stearns Hospital in Ludington to Michael and Mary (Jansen) Edel and graduated from Mason County Central High School with the class of 1976. On April 9, 1977 she married Gary D. Isham at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer and they have celebrated 39 years together.
Donna and Gary worked for the Klein Independent School District in Texas where Donna served as the cafeteria manager for 28 years, retiring in 2010. She also worked as the shoe department manager for Wal-Mart in both Texas and Traverse City for 26 years, retiring just this year. Donna and Gary loved traveling together, always enjoying new sights, and split their time between Texas and Michigan for many years. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother, caring for her home and family.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother Mary Edel, her father-in-law Gary Isham and mother-in-law Sharon Sandretto, and her son-in-law Brian Terry.
Donna will be greatly missed by her husband Gary, her children: Jessica Lynn Montemayor of Houston, Texas, Gary Duane Isham Jr. and wife Sarah of Lawton, Okla., Kerry Elizabeth Terry of Cypress, Texas, and Lynsey Black, serving with the US Navy stationed in San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren Brittany Snelgrove, Elaine, and Haley Tillery, Madison, Brayden, and Noah Isham, Christian, Mackenzie, and Marcus Terry; her father Michael Edel and wife Darlaine of Scottville; her brothers: Michael Edel Jr. and wife Laurie of Free Soil, Bruce Edel and wife Brenda, and Steve Edel and wife Roberta all of Scottville; her brothers-in-law: Jim Isham of Twin Falls, Idaho and Danny Sandretto of Ludington; her sisters-in-law: Cindy Schuhl and husband Tom of Ripley, Tenn. and Robin McBee and husband Travis of Magnolia, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Donna at noon on Friday, September 16 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer with The Rev. Dennis O’Donnell as celebrant. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may meet with Donna’s family for a time of visitation on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville, and on Friday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church.
