Myrna J. Beemer, 88, of Free Soil passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Tendercare of Ludington.  Myrna was born on November 14, 1927 in Lakeview, the daughter of Joseph and Leah (Mitchell) Taylor and graduated from Lakeview High School with the class of 1945. On March 21, 1946, she married the love of her life, Versal Beemer in Lakeview, and they have celebrated 70 wonderful years together.

Myrna and Versal moved their family to Scottville from Morley in 1968 and soon after she began working in quality control for Stokely’s Cannery for over 20 years.  She enjoyed her work very much, always stating she would go back tomorrow.  In retirement, she and Versal traveled to England, Hawaii, Mexico, and wintered in Texas.  She also enjoyed accompanying him on hunting trips to Canada as well.  She and Versal lived life to its fullest every day.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.  She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Versal; her children John (Norma) Beemer of Stockbridge, Larry (Judy) Beemer of Clarkston, Mary (David) Hasenbank of Free Soil, and Ronald (Renee) Beemer of Scottville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Myrna was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville where Funeral Services will be held for her at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 21 with Rev. James Schroeder and Pastor John Hansen officiating.  Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Free Soil.  Friends may greet her family for a time of visitation on Thursday from noon until time of services at the church.  Those who wish to remember Myrna with a memorial donation are asked to consider Our Savior Lutheran Church.
