LUDINGTON — The Community Foundation for Mason County has released the spring 2016 funds that have been awarded to the following:
- Gateway to Success Academy of Scottville has been awarded $10,000 toward sponsorship of the Administrative Office.
- Habitat for Humanity of Mason County has been awarded $1,000 toward project and home repair education classes to Mason County adults.
- Lakeshore Resource Network/United Way has been awarded $9,854 from The Community Foundation as well as $34,146 from The Michigan Health Endowment Grant. This is to provide seed funding toward a new initiative forming a consolidated food distribution program.
- Land Conservancy of West Michigan has been awarded $2,500 toward the preservation of water quality and the wild and scenic nature of the Pere Marquette River as well as protection of key riverside properties.
- Muscular Dystrophy Association has been awarded $690 toward Muscular Dystrophy Summer Camp for one child of Mason County with Muscle Disease.
- Rotary Club of Ludington Charities has been awarded $7,000 toward the restoration and transition of City Park to Rotary Park.
- Sable Point Lighthouse Keepers Association has been awarded $1,250 toward the continuation of providing student activity booklets for students that visit the lighthouses.
- Sandcastles Children’s Museum has been awarded $12,000 toward the replacement of their roof and fixing the facade, this will also improve the roof access of the building.
- Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital/Win with Wellness FIT Club has been awarded $7,500 toward the expansion of the FIT club program in order to increase community outreach and the number of children that are impacted by the program.
- Staircase Youth Services, Inc. has been awarded $2,000 toward a summer enrichment program for 15 at-risk Mason County youth to provide positive youth development.
- West Shore Pregnancy Center/Family Support Services has been awarded $1,000 toward changes to the center in order to make it more welcoming to fathers and the family as a whole.
