Hope (Leigh) Sorensen, 64, peacefully passed away on Saturday February 20, 2016 at home.
Leigh was born to the late Dewitt E. Tabor and Hazel L. Tabor (Pierce) on April 21, 1951 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Sheattended Union High School in Grand Rapids. She married Larry Sorensen on December 11, 2004.
Hope was employed as a C.N.A. at Metro Hospital for over 10 years. Her hobbies included crochet, listening to Elvis and John Wayne movies.
Leigh is survived by her husband Larry Sorensen. Son Chad White (Stephanie Milborn); daughters Shannon (Paul Braun) White and Brenda (Mel) Gilman; grandchildren Shawna Connor, Alex De Canter, Tiffany White, Jenna White, Destinee Krouse, Tyler Krouse, Bradley Gilman, Lyssa Gilman, Typhannie Gilman. Brittany Jones and Cassie Orrell; seven great-grandchildren; brother Tony Tabor and several nieces and nephews. Also, sisters-in-law and brothers-in law Paul and Phylis Sorensen, Lynda and John Gillis, Max Jr. and Donna Sorensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Joanna, Shirley and Janet and brother Butch.
There will be a memorial service held for Leigh on Wednesday February 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington with Assistant Pastor Joe Hilyard. A visitation will start at noon prior to the service.
