“Always…Patsy Cline” will have three shows at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts this weekend. Having a successful run off-Broadway, the show has been enjoyed internationally in Canada, the UK and Australia. The musical follows the friendship of legendary country singer, Patsy Cline and a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, the two remaining friends and maintaining correspondence until Cline’s tragic death in a plane crash in 1963. Songs featured include Cline’s unforgettable hits “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Walking After Midnight,” and more. Join a cast of some of the area’s most talented actors as they celebrate the life of Patsy Cline.

19th Annual Wooden Boat Show – Pentwater 

Saturday, August 22, 2015, 11a.m.

Hosted by the Pentwater Yacht Club, the 19th Annual Wooden Boat Show is set to take place at 11a.m. at Pentwater Lake. The public is invited to browse through dozens of new and vintage wooden boats on display from 11a.m. until 3p.m. Be sure to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award which will be announced along with the Best Century and Best in Show awards at 3p.m. Following the awards, boat owners will parade their boats through the lake to show off the wooden beauties. Funky Junk Market – Manistee 

Saturday, August 22, 2015, 8a.m. – 5p.m.

Whether buying or selling, the Funky Junk Market will be open for business! Hosted by Redeemed Enterprises, the event offers anyone the chance to rent a booth and sell antiques, resale and repurposed items and even personal artwork. Booths are $15 for rental and all proceeds from the rental will benefit Love, Inc. Persons interested in selling must bring their own table and tent. The sale will take place at the Redeemed Parking Lot 172, Memorial Dr., in Manistee. Clean out the garage, put your art on display or just bring your wallet, you never know what you might find. Always remember, one man’s trash can be another man’s treasure.

Ludington Lighthouse Du & Triathalon – Ludington 

Sunday, August 23, 2015, 8a.m.

It is time once again for the annual Ludington Lighthouse Triathlon! The crystal clear lake, sandy beaches and epic state park offer one of the most popular venues for the competing event. There are numerous options for eager entrants, including the Olympic and Sprint Triathlon, the Olympic and Sprint Aquabike and the Sprint KayaTri. Participants in the full triathlon will swim along the break wall in Lake Michigan then bike to the Ludington State Park and back and finish with a run to the city park and back. For those unable to participate, cheering crowds are welcomed to help the swimmers, bikers and runners push forward! Following the event will be a celebratory party at the waterfront.
