Sheriff warns of scam

MASON COUNTY — Residents from various locations of the county are reporting that they are receiving suspicious calls in which the callers state they are from the “federal government,” and they have arrest warrants out for the complainants in an effort to gather personal information.

“Citizens are asked to simply hang up on the caller,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
